We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Contract Data Engineer to join our fast-paced Engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and maintaining optimal data pipeline architectures and systems, as well as identifying, designing, and implementing internal process improvements. You will be working on a contract basis, providing your expertise to help our company evolve its data infrastructure and drive business growth.
Responsibilities:
1. Build, test, and maintain data architectures, including databases and processing systems.
2. Develop and implement scripts for database maintenance, performance tuning, and system optimization.
3. Utilize Snowflake to manage and manipulate large data sets, ensuring data availability and accessibility for analysis.
4. Leverage Workday Adaptive Insights for business planning, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
5. Develop and maintain APIs to support data functionality and ensure seamless data flow between systems.
6. Conduct complex data extraction, ensuring data integrity and quality.
7. Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to support their data infrastructure needs.
8. Keep our data separated and secure across national boundaries through multiple data centers and AWS regions.
9. Create data tools for analytics and data scientist team members to assist them in building and optimizing our product into an innovative industry leader.
10. Work with data and analytics experts to strive for greater functionality in our data systems.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
2. Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Data Engineer role or similar position.
3. Proven experience with Snowflake and Workday Adaptive Insights.
4. Strong experience in API development and management.
5. Proficiency in data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes.
6. Advanced SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases, query authoring, as well as working familiarity with a variety of databases.
7. Experience building and optimizing 'big data' data pipelines, architectures, and data sets.
8. Strong analytic skills related to working with unstructured datasets.
9. Strong project management and organizational skills.
10. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
11. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
