About the Job
Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, experienced career and client-oriented Data Engineer to join our team in Herndon, VA. This is a Hybrid position. In this role, you will collaborate with a team of consultants and engineers to provide sophisticated data integration and data management solutions for Government clients. The ideal candidate will have deep data engineering skills and extensive experience with data engineering tools, as well as a client-oriented approach to applying technology to complex problems.
Responsibilities:
+ Design and implement robust data pipelines to ingest, transform, and integrate data from various systems and networks, ensuring seamless data flow.
+ Collaborate with cloud and system architects to establish secure and efficient data transfer protocols among different networks and systems.
+ Develop and enforce data quality standards, ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of integrated data.
+ Work closely with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements to facilitate analytics and machine learning uses.
+ Architect data pipelines and data storage solutions to support analytic workflows.
+ Optimize data pipelines and storage solutions for performance, ensuring low latency and high throughput for real-time and batch data processing.
+ Implement robust security measures to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance with relevant data security policies and practices.
Basic Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
+ At least 12 years of experience in data engineering, data architecture, or related roles.
+ Extensive experience with ETL tools such as AWS Glue or Talend
+ Knowledge of big data technologies like Hadoop, Spark, and Kafka.
+ Experience with cloud services from providers such as AWS or Oracle and their data storage and processing services
+ Experience with data warehousing, data lakes, and big data technologies
+ Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or SQL
+ Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
+ Experience developing and implementing records management policies and procedures.
+ Familiarity with data security and compliance frameworks (e.g., NIST framework).
+ Cloud certifications such as AWS Certified Developer, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.
+ Experience with agile development methodologies.
+ Knowledge of data governance and metadata management.
+ Familiarity with records management standards (e.g., NARA standards).
Clearance Requirements:
+ Must possess a current and active TS/SCI with polygraph
Physical Requirements:
+ Must be able to be in a stationary position more than 50% of the time
+ Must be able to communicate, converse, and exchange information with peers and senior personnel
+ Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a computer
+ The person in this position frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations
+ The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
