Job Description:
Constellation West is looking for an entry-level to senior-level Data Engineer to support the CDAO's Mission Analytics Directorate through the Advana program, which provides core and data analytics across various domains, including procurement and financial management (FM). By enhancing the integration of procurement and FM datasets, the program aims to improve data quality and completeness, focusing on detailed contract line item numbers (CLIN) and line of accounting (LOA) levels. This integration facilitates the measurement of end-to-end processes, identification of interface failures, and timely obligations and payments. It also supports accurate data conversions and contract closeouts, offering the DoD critical insights into mission-critical processes and helping prevent financial discrepancies and overpayments.
Job Details & Tasks:
Senior-Level with seven plus years of experience:
Manage a team of specialized data scientists and data engineers focused on optimizing the creation, deployment, testing, and iterative development of all bronze, silver, and gold data tables deployed across unclassified and classified CDAO environments under the References. Advana uses Python, SQL, and PySpark languages and standard Python packages in Databricks. Bronze tables are query-able versions of data as they are received, including historical copies. Silver tables are refined source data with a schema standardized against guidance from the data source. Gold tables store fit-for-purpose analytic data transformed, cleansed, and aggregated for the use case or application.
All levels of Data Engineer will be expected to perform the following:
Create and maintain templates, guides, and playbooks to inform and enable the DoD to reuse and scale data, analytic, and AI work for decision advantage.
Provide engineering support to all customers working to leverage the Advana platform and other CDAO platforms:
- Build data products and data mesh services.
- Register, ingest, store, search, and retrieve data products.
- Develop suites of data quality business logic.
- Train, test, and deploy production AI/ML models.
- Integrate and maintain metadata.
Job Qualifications & Requirements:
- For the Senior-Level position, 7-10+ years of development experience in Python, Spark, SQL
- Proven ability to independently establish and manage multiple data pipelines.
- Experience with Big Data systems and ELT processes.
- Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) certification is preferred.
- Experience applying DoD Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and automating the process.
- Experience in Advana Preferred.
- Bachelors or Higher in related field
- Must hold a Secret security clearance with TS/SCI clearance preferred.
- Valid Passport
- Ability to commute to Falls Church 2-3 days per week.
