As the Data Governance Lead at Maximus UK, your aim is to improve the use and governance of data across the organisation. This role has three main strands: Education, Governance, and Data Quality. You will outline and drive a programme of education on data for colleagues with the purpose of improving data confidence. You will implement standards, policies, and initiatives that enhance data management throughout its lifecycle, and will coordinate of a network of Data Owners and Data Stewards to assure our use of data. You will oversee data quality initiatives that will track and report on the data quality of our critical data assets. This role is enterprise wide and so will collaborate with stakeholders from across the organisation.
Salary Range:
Non London: £65,000 - £70,000
London: £70,000 - £75,000

Internal
•DnA colleagues who utilise data to deliver BI & Advanced Analytics services.
•Information Security, Data Protection Teams, Technology Solutions, and Infrastructure teams.
•Product Owners, Platform Owners, Data Owners, and Data Stewards.
•Internal Comms, and Training & Development teams.
•Work closely with project & change initiative teams.
•Establish and maintain relationships with internal organizational stakeholders.
External
•Engage with external data suppliers, including IT/Technology teams in client and supplier organizations.
Understand
- Work with colleagues from across the organisation, including closely with the Data Architect to understand how data is used, the enterprise data model, and critical data assets.
Educate & Communicate
•Develop and drive a comprehensive data education program aimed at improving data literacy and understanding among colleagues.
•Design and deliver training sessions, workshops, and resources to promote a culture of data-driven decision-making.
•Collaborate with key stakeholders to identify and address knowledge gaps and provide ongoing support to enhance data confidence.
Governance
•Establish and enforce data governance standards and policies to ensure consistent and effective data management practices for the full data lifecycle.
•Drive specific initiatives to improve data lifecycle practices eg. Data retention
•Define and implement procedures for data classification, access control, and data privacy to protect critical data assets.
•Coordinate a network of data owners and data stewards to improve use of data and ensure compliance with governance requirements and best practices.
•Facilitate AI and Data Governance forums that drive goals and strategies for use of AI and data.
Data Quality
•Oversee and prioritise data quality initiatives to monitor, track, and report on the quality of critical data assets.
•Collaborate with relevant teams to identify and address data quality issues, establishing data quality metrics and improvement plans.
•Initiate teams to implement data cleansing and data enrichment strategies to enhance the accuracy and reliability of data.
Qualifications and/or Experience
•Proven experience leading Data Governance initiatives in a large enterprise.
•Desirable: Degree in Data or Information Systems, or Business Administration
•Strong understanding of data governance frameworks, data quality principles, and data management best practices.
•Experience in delivering data quality improvements in large enterprises.
•Familiarity with enterprise data models, and how they are applied to governance.
•Experience working with Data Owners / Stewards networks to assure data use.
•Experience in use of education techniques and communication tools to improve the colleague confidence in use of enterprise data.
•Prior experience working in Agile teams.
•Line Management experience.
•Experience in use of data governance tools in an enterprise environment like Microsoft Purview, Collibra, Atlan, Talend etc
•Knowledge of relevant data protection regulations and compliance requirements, such as GDPR.

•Meticulous attention to detail, capable of working effectively both independently and as part of a team.
•Ability to work accurately under time pressure.
