We are in search of a dynamic Consulting Data Center Technician to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a broad range of cutting-edge technologies and to be part of a fast-paced, forward-thinking team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of our data center, including system monitoring, server configuration, and troubleshooting. This role is critical to ensuring the high availability and optimum performance of our data center infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
1. Install, configure, and maintain data center infrastructure including servers, storage systems, and network devices.
2. Conduct routine system audits to ensure all hardware and software components are functioning optimally.
3. Perform rack and stack of data center equipment, ensuring proper installation and connectivity.
4. Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity issues, reducing downtime and increasing operational efficiency.
5. Work with fiber optic and copper cabling, ensuring proper installation, termination, and testing.
6. Develop and implement strategies for capacity planning and growth.
7. Collaborate with the IT team to ensure seamless deployment of new technologies.
8. Provide technical support and guidance to other team members.
9. Ensure all data center operations adhere to compliance regulations.
10. Document all processes and actions taken to resolve issues for future reference.
Qualifications:
1. Proven experience as a Data Center Technician or similar role in an IT environment.
2. Hands-on experience with server configuration and maintenance.
3. Extensive knowledge of fiber optic and copper cabling, including installation, termination, and testing.
4. Experience with rack and stack of data center equipment.
5. Strong understanding of data center protocols and standards.
6. Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex network issues.
7. Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
8. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
9. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
10. Professional certification in Network or Data Center Management would be a plus.
11. Must have a minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience.
