Job Overview:
The Data Center Technician ensures the seamless operation, maintenance, and security of the organization's IT infrastructure, directly supporting critical business operations and minimizing system downtime. This role is integral to maintaining a reliable data center environment and providing technical support to end users.
Additional tasks:
- Monitor data center infrastructure, including servers, storage systems, network equipment, and power systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Monitor infrastructure (servers, storage systems, network equipment, power systems) for optimal performance.
- Perform regular maintenance tasks, including hardware inspections, software updates, and system backups.
- Ensure the data center meets physical and environmental security standards.
- Troubleshoot LAN/WAN issues and coordinate with IT teams and vendors to resolve malfunctions.
- Assist in computer system validation processes.
- Respond promptly to alerts and incidents, diagnosing and resolving issues to minimize downtime.
- Document incidents, resolutions, and preventive measures accurately.
- Provide end-user support and manage IT tickets.
- Deploy and troubleshoot new PCs and other hardware.
- Travel between company sites may be required, along with occasional evening and weekend work to meet operational needs.
- Other tasks as assigned by the Director of IT.
What We're Looking For:
- We are seeking individuals who have strong communication skills with attention to detail who thrive in fast-paced environments.
- Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent work experience and IT Certifications.
- 3+ years of experience in small-to-medium-sized data center operations.
- Proficiency in IT infrastructure, including TCP/IP protocols, LAN/WAN troubleshooting, and cloud-based services.
- Proven experience in PC installation, deployment, and troubleshooting in a Windows environment.
