About the Job
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including hardware installations, upgrades, and repairs.
- Monitor data center infrastructure to identify and resolve issues proactively.
- Respond to alerts and tickets related to data center equipment failures or performance degradation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with safety and security protocols.
- Manage inventory of hardware and spare parts, and coordinate procurement as needed.
- Assist in capacity planning and scalability initiatives to support business growth.
- Implement and maintain documentation for data center procedures and configurations.
- Participate in disaster recovery planning and testing exercises.
- Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging technologies relevant to data center operations.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Proven experience in data center operations, including hands-on experience with server hardware, networking equipment, and storage systems.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues.
- Familiarity with data center management tools and monitoring systems.
- Knowledge of networking protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VLANs.
- Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to work flexible hours and participate in an on-call rotation schedule.
- Certifications such as CompTIA Server+, Cisco CCNA, or VMware VCP are desirable but not required.
- Commitment to maintaining the highest standards of reliability, security, and compliance in the data center environment.
