Job Description:
Our client, a global bank, has an immediate opening for a Data Center Migration Engineer to help with a Data Center Migration/Relocation/Consolidation. This is remote position but candidates will need to be located in the Dallas, TX area as they'll be required to visit the data center when needed. Migration Engineer will be deeply involved, alongside Application Owners, Application Architects, and Infrastructure Engineers in the planning and execution of the data center migration and consolidation program.
Migration Engineer - candidate will assist with reviewing existing Data Center infrastructure configuration, platforms (Compute, Storage, Network, etc.) and work with technical teams to define optimal migration approaches with proposed plan.
• Perform high-level Technical Architect and co-ordinate working technical teams with the data center consolidation/moves.
• Strong technical working knowledge with VMware/Server/Storage including configuration and management.
• Manage technical aspects involved with infrastructure consolidation/moves.
• Assess, Client, and document Infrastructure to Application Dependency .
• Create detailed technical migration plan.
• Manage technical plan, track milestones, and identify dependencies.
• Assist with planning change activities with the consolidation/moves.
• Execute data center infrastructure consolidation/moves.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience
- Data center migration experience
- Compute/Storage/Network experience
