JOB OVERVIEW
We are seeking Data Center Infrastructure Technicians to join a large-scale initiative in one of our Fortune 10 client’s Data Centers in the northern Virginia region. You will play a crucial role in optimizing the efficiency and effectiveness of the data center cooling systems by installing, maintaining, and repairing the hot aisle containment systems (HAC) that ensure proper airflow management and temperature control within our client’s facilities. Ideal candidates will bring hands-on technical skills, a proactive mindset, and a strong sense of accountability to deliver solutions with precision and excellence.
This is a physically demanding role requiring keen attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to thrive in challenging environments.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certifications in fields such as carpentry, mechanics, construction, HVAC, or general contracting are a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings and diagrams.
- Proficient in using a tape measure to take precise measurements, including down to 1/16th of an inch.
- Skilled in using hand and power tools for fabrication, assembly, and installation.
- Strong problem-solving abilities with a demonstrated history of creating solutions based on technical documentation.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds, stand for extended periods, and work in conditions ranging from 90–120 degrees.
- Comfortable working in small spaces, climbing ladders, and performing tasks at elevated heights.
- Self-motivated with a strong sense of accountability for quality and accuracy in their work.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Install hot aisle containment systems (HAC) in accordance with engineering specifications, ensuring precision and accuracy in measurements and assembly.
- Collaborate with team leads and coworkers to ensure alignment with project goals and system layouts.
- Fabricate and customize materials to meet unique site requirements.
- Regularly inspect, maintain, and repair installed systems to uphold operational efficiency.
- Identify and remedy mistakes promptly, demonstrating a commitment to doing what is right over what is easy.
- Document all work thoroughly, maintaining accurate records of activities, measurements, and configurations.
- Proactively address and resolve individual and team accountability issues, including improper tool usage or non-compliance with safety protocols.
- Adhere strictly to safety standards to maintain a safe and effective working environment.
EXPECTATIONS
As a Data Center Infrastructure Technician, you will be expected to:
- Strictly commit to following and upholding all data center security protocols. You will be briefed on all security protocols and expectations daily.
- Adhere rigorously to the PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) policy. Proper PPE will be provided, but you are encouraged to bring your own Composite Toe Shoes if you already own them.
- Remain flexible and adaptable to unexpected "Blocked" and "Restricted" workdays dictated by the client due to major holidays or world events. These workdays will be communicated with as much notice as possible but will be unpaid.
- Be part of an agile team that is not stationary and follows a schedule. The schedule is created based on allocated data centers and the work associated with each location. You will move from data center to data center according to the schedule, spending varying lengths of time at each site (e.g., one week at one data center, three days at another, and a week and a half at another). Efforts are made to limit same-day travel between locations.
- Locations: Manassas, Chantilly, Ashburn, Herndon, Haymarket, Sterling, Stoneridge, Bull Run, and Dulles
- Thrive in a physically demanding work environment with elevated temperatures (90–120 degrees), requiring:
