Must Have Skills:
- Strong Data Governance background:
- Understands the business side of data and ability to bring consistency for data definitions
- Data security and access management
- Data governance tools (Collibra, not required)
- Strategy around the implementation for data governance
- Background in Data Architecture:
- Experience creating data domains and creating data architecture to support multiple domains
- Experience with data architecture/modeling for reporting and reporting platforms (Power BI)
- Data architecture for integrations
- Technical expertise with:
- AWS Redshift
- AWS Glue
- Data Mesh
- SAP Experience - S4 or ECC
- Data Analytics experience and knowledge
- Experience working in highly visible roles
- Strong presentation skills
Soft Skills:
- Excellent communication and writing skills
- Innovative and solution-oriented
Nice to Have Skills:
- Oil and Gas / utilities experience
Additional Information:
This Data Architecture and Data Governance Specialist will join a large program to replace this Natural Gas Utility’s CIS system with SAP technologies. This individual will then be instrumental in aligning with the enterprise data governance strategy, collaborating with other groups and the Data Governance COE.
Day to Day Responsibilities:
- Join an enterprise-wide field workforce management and asset management focused program to develop and implement data governance and data domain architecture that's AWS Data Mesh ready.
- Responsible for establishing and implementing data governance policies, standards, and processes to ensure the integrity, quality, and security of the organization's data assets.
- Responsible for designing, building, and maintaining data architecture to ensure optimal data management and usage, driving data architecture for the Power BI reporting platforms and integration with SAP and other 3rd party systems and applications.
- Develop strategies for data conversion, data modeling, analytics, and reporting.
- Analyze and define data requirements by working closely with stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into technical specifications.
- Develop and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models that capture and represent business processes and data relationships.
- Define data standards, best practices, and guidelines for data management, integration, and governance.
- Develop and implement data governance strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Lead the design and implementation of data governance frameworks, including data stewardship roles, data ownership, and data quality metrics.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, IT teams, and data owners to define data governance requirements and priorities aligned with business objectives.
