Our client, an asset management firm, is seeking an experienced Data Architect to join their team in Los Angeles, CA!
Responsibilities:
- Conceptualize and construct resilient, high-performance data solutions utilizing Snowflake, dbt, Airflow, and SQL Server to fulfill organizational objectives.
- Forge enterprise-grade data models and architectural frameworks with a focus on functionality, cost-efficiency, scalability, reusability, and security.
- Interpret requirements to influence solution architecture, spearhead development phases, and supervise the deployment phase in a large-scale business environment.
- Exhibit technical guidance in the administration, support, and enhancement of company data, streamlining data accessibility, reducing redundancies, and merging various data entities into singular enterprise-level models.
- Recognize and address strategic data/workflow discrepancies and champion the adoption of innovative technologies and methodologies.
- Lead and supervise a Scrum team, coordinating project tasks, allocating responsibilities, and monitoring project advancement.
- Design and execute data governance and security strategies to safeguard data integrity and ensure adherence to regulatory compliance.
- Engage with interdisciplinary teams to pinpoint data-centric opportunities and deliver strategic insights.
- Execute data examinations, profiling, and validations to guarantee data precision and integrity.
- Remain informed on the latest industry developments, standards, and practices in data architecture, engineering, and management.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in computer science, statistics, engineering, or a related discipline, with a preference for advanced degrees.
- Over 8+ years of professional experience in roles such as Data Engineer or Developer, showcasing a strong technical command over Snowflake, dbt, Airflow, SQL, and other pertinent technologies.
- Expertise in both relational and dimensional modeling, along with a proven track record of working alongside finance professionals in high-pressure scenarios.
- Deep familiarity with the principles of fixed income and asset management, with a history of developing data solutions for financial entities covering a range of asset types.
- Proficient in both traditional and modern data management tools and platforms, including but not limited to SSIS, SSRS, and SQL Server.
Desired Skills:
- Preference is with experience in large-scale data solutions and migrations, especially those with familiarity with BlackRock Aladdin.
- Background in data warehouse establishment for investment firms, particularly those on the buy-side.
- Experience with integrating data from external providers.
