Data Analytics & Integration Subject Matter Expert I (SME)

Position Overview:

The Data Analytics & Integration SME will support the Front Office of the Technology Scouting and Transition (TST) Division at the Department of Homeland Security's Science and Technology Directorate (DHS S&T). This remote position based in the DC metro area will work closely with program managers to integrate and configure data analytics tools to meet business requirements and align with system architecture standards.

Responsibilities include maintaining data management systems, integrating emerging technologies, and providing technical support for system analysis and assessments. This role is primarily billable and requires strong experience in data analytics, systems integration, and a background in delivering innovative consulting services in dynamic environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support data analytics and management functions for the Technology Scouting and Transition Division
• Integrate and configure data analytics tools to align with architectural standards and meet business requirements
• Manage databases and test emerging technologies for system integration
• Revise existing systems and procedures to enhance data handling efficiency
• Create comprehensive reports and visualizations for internal and external stakeholders
• Provide strategic advice and technical support for system analysis and assessments

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, or Master's degree and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
• US Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a federal security clearance if required
• Proven experience in data analytics, database management, and systems integration
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft data analytics tools, including Power BI and SharePoint
• Familiarity with AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot
• Experience working in a consulting or client-facing role within the public sector
