POSITION SUMMARY
The Clinical Data Analyst is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining reporting solutions. This role is instrumental in data collection, dashboard development, reporting and identifying areas for performance improvement. This role will maintain a portfolio of quality and utilization reports to drive improved performance with value-based contracts. Responsibilities include sharing actionable performance dashboards with value-based care leadership, operational leadership and quality improvement teams. Other duties include assisting with analysis of clinical quality metrics, operational trends, compliance reporting, and utilization in support of value-based care strategies.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Analyze current data to perform gap analysis on report available and utility of current reports.
- Query, review and gather data from multiple internal/external sources to create dashboards, drill down capable reports and key performance indicators.
- Provide analytical expertise in data quality, improvement opportunities and understanding of variation in the clinical and quality metrics.
- Utilize Tableau, Power BI, ESO, and other data visualization software to create actionable dashboards and reports.
- Provide consultative support for value-based care leaders on improvement opportunities for clinical and quality metrics.
- Facilitate the efficient use of dashboards, reports and presentations for clinic-based improvement projects.
- Analyze and vet report as well as help colleagues interpret the information to answer clinical and quality performance questions.
- Works in conjunction with the Director of Operations, Clark County Medical Program Director, Clinical QA/QI Coordinator.
- Reviews project requests describing clinical database user needs.
- Attends specification meetings with Clinical and Educational Services (CES) team members to determine scope and limitations of projects.
- Works closely with front-end users to ensure program usability, recognize data collection issues, and recommend solutions.
- Troubleshoots and improves existing reports and reporting logic to meet clinical data user needs.
- Develops data models describing data elements and how they are used.
- Designs, executes, and interprets the results of custom T- SQL queries linking multiple databases.
- Contributes to planning of system operations. Design data collection instruments for focused investigations and audits.
- Responds to Value leadership requests for analysis and reporting related to clinical and quality performance.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Advanced Excel knowledge & Experience.
- Experience using SQL and analyzing queries.
- Experience analyzing, interpreting, summarizing, displaying and presenting data.
- Using desktop software and data visualization tools.
- Experience extracting data from EMR, preferably ESO and Epic.
- Excellent computer skills including Microsoft applications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND MENTAL/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Work is generally performed in a typical interior/office environment or remote as determined by the Director of Operation’s discretion.
- Frequently required to sit for long periods.
- Work requires stooping, walking, grasping, and repetitive motions; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; visual acuity is necessary for preparing and analyzing written or computer data, determining the accuracy and thoroughness of work, and observing general surrounds and activities.
- Pass drug screen, and background check.
- Continually required to perceive normal speaking levels with or without correction and can receive detailed information through oral communication.
- Frequently required to stand, walk, and use hands and arms.
- Must be able to read/comprehend, write, perform calculations, reason, and analyze.
