- Position Summary
- The Risk Management Data Analyst serves as the System Administrator for SJ/C's electronic reporting software and Recalls Alert software to maintain security of confidential and peer-related sensitive data and includes assigning and managing user access and privilege assignments across all modules of the system: including Safety Event Manager, Feedback Manager, Disruptive Event Manager and Employee Event Manager. Responsibilities also include analysis and investigation of patient and/or visitor events reported through the software and overseeing the recalls notification/reporting process. Develop, modifies and generates reports both routine and ad hoc to support continuous quality improvement and hospital operations and to be used for quarterly reporting to SJ/C Leadership and Board of Trustees. Responsibilities also include as serving as the primary trainer and support for end users on all modules of the electronic reporting software and recall alerts software.
- Education
- Bachelors of Business - Preferred
- Associates of Information Systems - Required
- Experience
- 2-3 Years Data Management - Required
- At least 3 years of experience in either of the following: data entry, managing or administering software programs, supporting or using databases, data profiling, as well as conducting training or presentations - preferably in the healthcare setting.
- Some medical terminology or clinical experience is desired
- Must have the ability to work independently and be proficient with computer databases in order to analyze and present data, develop reports and maintain the databases on reported events.
- Must have the ability to communicate with all System personnel in a training as well as collaborative manner and must have a good understanding of the risk management processes.
- Must have very good communications and presentation skills – both orally and in writing.
- Be persistent with an eye for detail and the ability to complete projects and keep to deadlines.
- Exhibit the ability to learn emerging technology related to software that will enhance job responsibilities as well as hospital operations.

- Core Job Functions
- Assigns privileges based on user job responsibilities. Manages user access across all modules of event reporting software and recall software. Serves as help desk for end users with usability questions.
- Primary trainer for end users and management in entry and follow-up of system events, complaints and recalls.
- Works with Clinical Risk Manager and Director in documenting severity, cause codes and locations for each event. Assignment and tracking of follow-up to managers. Provides analysis of data to system depts. and Director in efforts to reduce or eliminate noted risks and assists with proactive education to all co-workers.
- Maintains event reporting database. Reviews, compiles and enters data to analyze and develop reports related to specific needs. Assists in preparation and presentation of educational offerings based on statistical analysis results.
