You will be responsible for:
- Gathering data requirements for reporting and application development purposes
- Developing strategies for data acquisition and providing the choice of integration patterns based on value for the business
- Conducting data profiling and predictive analysis using a variety of standard tools
- Working with data visualization tools and methodologies; interpreting data, analyzing results using statistical techniques and deliver ongoing reports.
- Collaborating with technical teams to design and help model application data structures, storage, and integration in accordance with enterprise-wide architecture standards and processes
- Assisting with creating overall product data and analytics strategy
- Leading data standardization programs and redesigning of legacy databases
- Designing, developing and maintaining reporting capabilities at the system and application level, using MySQL, Tableau, web analytics tools, OLAP applications, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access
- Researching new data modeling methodologies and data security standards
- Proactively identifying and proposing alternatives to improve the stability, performance, and accuracy of the reporting infrastructure
- Extracting data using MySQL through subqueries and complex joins
- Performing data analysis and producing reports for operations and marketing teams. Leading reporting's data quality and confidence functions
- Assisting with the development and operations of multiple complex databases
- Developing and reviewing data testing procedures, validation methodologies and acceptance criteria for quality assurance purposes
- Analyzing the performance of multiple systems to detect defects though data analysis
- Coordinating efforts to address application defects, identifying business impacts, and assisting with drafting related communications for stakeholders/end users
You need to have:
- Expert knowledge of MySQL (4+ years)
- Strong understanding of rational databases, ETLs, analytics tools and concepts
- Strong understating of the software development life cycle in an agile environment (3+ years)
- Working knowledge of Web Services architecture and components like Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP), Web Services Description Language (WSDL), and/or RESTful web services
- Understanding of HTML, CSS and JavaScript
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills with an unsurpassed attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and prioritize work effectively, as well as to function as an effective team member in a local and virtual environment
- Mindset to support team excellence by documenting processes and evangelizing new approaches
- Strong verbal and written English skills as they are critical for success in this role
- The ability to thrive in a fast paced environment; demonstrated ability to work calmly in a demanding work environment subject to a variety of pressures and constraints
Preferred:
- Experience in SEO, Google Analytics reporting and implementation
- Experience working in insurance, nonprofit or financial industry
- Working knowledge of deep learning algorithms, machine learning, artificial intelligence and data lake architecture
- Understanding of cloud infrastructure and AWS
