Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Analyst to join our esteemed client's team on a full-time basis. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in analyzing drinking water data and will be responsible for collecting, organizing, and analyzing large datasets related to drinking water quality and safety. The Data Analyst will work closely with our clients to identify trends, develop insights, and make data-driven recommendations to improve water quality and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
Responsibilities:
- Identify trends and patterns in the data and develop insights to inform decision-making
- Work closely with clients to understand their specific data needs and provide customized analysis and reporting
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data accuracy and consistency
- Develop and maintain data models and databases to support ongoing analysis and reporting
- Communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices related to drinking water quality and safety
- Continuously improve data collection and analysis processes to increase efficiency and accuracy
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, water resources management, geography, computer science, ecology, or a related discipline.
- At least 3 years of relevant professional experience in a consulting, government agency, or research position OR a Masters degree in a relevant discipline plus one year of relevant professional experience.
- Experience retrieving, analyzing, and cleaning large datasets (such as environmental, geospatial, demographic, or project progress and administrative management data) using R, Python, or Power Query.
- Familiarity with using Power BI, ArcGIS Online, or Shiny to develop interactive web-based tools and applications for visualizing data.
- Strong organizational and communication skills with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to apply quality control practices.
- Strong problem-solving skills with an ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
- Candidates must be either a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident to be considered.
