Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Cytotechnologist to join our laboratory team in Toledo, Ohio. This role involves analyzing human cell samples to identify abnormalities, working closely with pathologists to diagnose diseases.

Key Responsibilities:

Ensure proper handling and preparation of laboratory specimens.

Make initial diagnoses on cytopathology consultations.

Make final diagnoses on negative gynecological material; refer abnormalities to a pathologist.

Utilize laboratory computer systems for result entry and quality control.

Recommend procedural changes to address quality issues and enhance customer satisfaction.

Participate in educational activities related to clinical cytology and cytopathology.

Maintain accurate records of slides screened and screening hours.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Cytotechnology from an accredited college/university.

ASCP certification in Cytotechnology.

Ability to move continuously around the hospital and between workstations.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Additional Information:

Work schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00 am - 3:30 pm or 8:00 am - 4:30 pm.

Exposure to disease-bearing specimens, chemicals, and other laboratory hazards.
