Cytotechnologist - CT(ASCP) - Toledo, OH

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Cytotechnologist to join our partner, a leading medical center in Toledo, Ohio. In this role, you will play a crucial part in the diagnosis and treatment of various medical conditions by examining cells microscopically to detect abnormalities.
Responsibilities:
- Specimen Preparation: Receive and process cytology specimens, ensuring proper handling, identification, and preparation for microscopic examination.
- Microscopic Examination: Perform detailed microscopic evaluations of gynecological and non-gynecological specimens to identify abnormal cells and cellular patterns.
- ThinPrep Pap Smear Analysis: Specialize in the review and screening of ThinPrep Pap smears, demonstrating accuracy in locating and diagnosing abnormal cells.
- Diagnostic Assessment: Provide preliminary interpretations of cytological findings and collaborate with pathologists to reach definitive diagnoses.
- Documentation: Accurately record and document microscopic observations, diagnostic impressions, and other relevant information in patient reports and laboratory information systems (Epic and Cerner).
- Quality Control: Adhere to strict quality control measures to ensure the accuracy and reliability of cytological diagnoses.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Cytotechnology or a related field from an accredited program.
- ASCP certification as a Cytotechnologist (ASCP-CT).
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Cytotechnologist.
- Proficiency in microscopic examination and interpretation of gynecological and non-gynecological specimens.
- Expertise in ThinPrep Pap smear analysis.
- Strong understanding of cytopathology and related diagnostic techniques.
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Schedule:
- Full-time position, Monday - Friday.
- Occasional on-call or weekend work may be required, with advance notice provided by leadership.
