Job Overview:Works as cyber security specialist responsible for operating and maintaining the Wing-Level Communications Security (COMSEC) and Emissions Security (TEMPEST) Program to ensure goals are accomplished for the Maxwell BOS contract. May be assigned a trainer role within the scope of authority.

Responsibilities:Essential Duties & Job Functions:
- Consults with management, reviews project/task proposals to determine goals, time frame and procedures for accomplishing projects, staffing requirements and allotment of resources.
- Manage the Wing-Level COMSEC and TEMPEST programs in accordance with applicable Air Force System Security Instructions (AFSSI), Air Force Manuals (AFMAN) and Methods and Procedures Technical Orders (MPTO).
- In coordination with the National Security Agency (NSA) and USAF Key Management Infrastructure (KMI) Program Management Office (PMO) to receive, issue and destroy COMSEC material on a monthly basis.
- Perform backup and updates to the KMI system.
- Perform COMSEC Assessments where base organizations receive a cyber assessment report and training on a semi-annual basis.
- Conduct a semi-annual inventory on the base COMSEC account, provide report to Wing leadership, NSA, KMI PMOs.
- Perform training for COMSEC Responsible Officers (CRO) and Secure Voice Responsible Officers (SVRO).
- Coordinate with Cyber Space Support Squadron (CYSS) and impacted base organizations on COMSEC incidents.
- Conduct TEMPEST site surveys, coordinate approval and implement countermeasures on classified processing areas. The package is provided to Air Force Space Command (AFSPC), TEMPEST Support office.
- Perform TEMPEST Assessments where base organizations receive a cyber assessment report and training on an annual basis. Packages are reviewed every 3 years and re-accomplished every 6 years.
- Review and advise on CSRD requirements within 42 CS and customer organizations for TEMPEST related concerns.
- Responsible for educating one-self on the policies and procedures governing USAF/DoD networks, pertinent AFI and AFMAN guidance.
- Responsible for interfacing with the customer about cyber security issues.
- Assist team members in the resolution of cyber security issues.
- Maintains documentation and measures results against cyber security specifications.
- Prepares status reports, metrics and keeps management, clients, and others informed of status.
- Performs other duties as assigned in accordance with contractual, functional and mission requirements.
Mandatory:
- DoD 8570 Information Awareness Technology Certification Level I IAM certification (e.g. Security+CE, CAP, etc.).
- Proficient knowledge in handling classified material.
- Proficient knowledge in coordinating COMSEC incident reporting and resolution.
- Proficient knowledge in operating a Secure Key Loader (SKL).
- Proficient knowledge in operating secure voice devices (e.g. STE, vIPer, VoSIP).
- Knowledge of the KMI system.
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Operating Systems and Office applications.
- Excellent data, oral and written communication, and people skills.
- Current on the latest technological advances within the IT industry.
- Ability to successfully pass any background checks and/or drug testing required on the contract.
- U.S. Citizenship.
- Ability to obtain access to U.S. Government Installations through the Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS).
- Ability to obtain a security clearance.
