Technical Program Manager / Cloud Security Architect - Cybersecurity Initiatives
Team Overview:
This team is at the forefront of product management, focusing on cybersecurity and data governance. Engaging with diverse stakeholders, this role requires not only technical expertise but also strong leadership and advisory skills. Historically, the team operated in a PMO capacity. However, with evolving business needs, there is now a greater emphasis on leadership advisory, demanding a specialized skill set in cybersecurity domains and program management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cybersecurity
- Manage data governance initiatives, ensuring data is securely protected, encrypted, and managed from a cybersecurity perspective. This includes handling data inventories, identifying valuable data, and ensuring robust security measures.
- Cloud Migration
- Lead efforts in cloud migration, particularly within platforms such as GCP or Azure, while also managing application sunsetting and retiring legacy systems securely.
- Third-Party Vendor Management
- Oversee vendor security, onboarding, and third-party risk management, ensuring that external partners align with the organization’s security standards.
- Agile Transformation
- Drive flexibility in cybersecurity initiatives through agile practices and support the restructuring and rebuilding of cybersecurity teams.
Required Skills:
- Cybersecurity Expertise
- Extensive knowledge in vulnerability management, application security, and data protection.
- Program & Project Management
- Strong leadership in managing complex programs, offering advisory support, and reviewing security plans across multiple lines of business.
- Cloud Expertise
- Proficiency in cloud architecture and migration strategies (GCP/Azure).
- Third-Party Security
- Solid understanding of vendor management and third-party onboarding, with a focus on SAS security.
- Technically savvy – use MS Teams, Jira, excel, tracking tools etc……
Top Three Priorities:
- Cybersecurity Knowledge
- Proven expertise in cybersecurity domains, especially in vulnerability and data protection.
- Program Management
- Demonstrated experience in leading large-scale programs and advising on security strategies.
- Proactive Leadership
- A self-starter with the ability to define tasks, build relationships, and work autonomously across teams.
Key Challenge: One of the biggest challenges of this role is understanding the organization's structure and processes. The consultant will need to navigate complex data flows and collaborate with numerous stakeholders (up to 100), making strong relationship management a vital skill.
