About The Position
**Job Title:** Registered Nurse **Job Specialty:** CVICU **Job Duration:** 13 weeks **Shift:** Night, 3x12-Hour (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM) **Guaranteed Hours:** Not specified **Experience:** 2 years of experience required; must have 1 prior travel assignment **License:** Must have the appropriate state license or compact license **Certifications:** ACLS, BLS **Must-Have:** - Flu vaccine (required, no exemptions) **Job Description:** - Provide care in the CVICU for patients with cardiovascular complications. - Required skills include interpretation and management of dysrhythmias and management of post-cardiac surgery patients not directly from the OR. - Assist with insertion and removal of chest tubes. - Care for ventilated patients and manage pacer, temporary pacer, and transvenous pacer. - Preferred skill: Management of lumbar drains. - Participate in an on-call schedule with 4 call shifts in a 6-week period. - Required to work every third weekend. - Float within units of equivalent or lower acuity. - Orientation includes 28 hours (paid at 50% non-billable). - Utilize Cerner/Med Connect for charting. - Utilize SBAR for communication during shift notes. - Medication management through Pyxis. - Required to complete modules pre-start, which may vary by specialty. Modules are billable up to 4 hours, with any additional time non-billable. - Wear navy blue scrubs. - Handle an average daily census of 1-8 patients in a unit with 8 staffed beds/rooms. - Compliance with predetermined submission details and travel guidelines is mandatory. Note: Interview may or may not be conducted by a manager; candidates should be comfortable with this process.
