The Customer Service Representative is responsible for the order fulfillment process from customer purchase order receipt to releasing orders for shipment as well as fielding inquiries and support requests from customers, sales and other internal workgroups. Ensures accuracy of customer requests and on-time delivery.
Essential Functions include:
- Responsible for adherence to company policies including safety and the use of personal protective equipment.
- Efficiently utilizes ERP system to create customer orders, confirm and apply pricing, answer inquires and follow up on order status.
- Reviews inventory picture and future production plan to determine product availability while driving to meet customer requested availability dates.
- When inventory is available, releases orders for shipment by communicating to customer, shipping team or transportation carriers.
- Advises customer of order status at multiple phases of order fulfillment as needed, especially when special handling is required.
- Develops and maintains deep knowledge of roofing products, both company manufactured and ancillary, and roofing industry to provide comprehensive, accurate information and advice to customers.
- Listens attentively to customer needs and concerns; demonstrates empathy and uses critical thinking skills to find solutions for situations.
- Works towards standardization that allows for consistent process flow, makes continuous improvement suggestions, and helps to drive changes as needed.
- Communicates effectively with individuals/teams in company to ensure high quality and timely expedition of orders.
- Works with multiple departments to coordinate efficient on-site job deliveries.
- Builds rapport with customers and sales team that perpetuates trust and confidence in customer service and the Malarkey brand.
- Proactively communicates product attributes, order configuration or other information to build brand image, grow sales or increase profitability as needed.
- Partners with sales professionals to meet and exceed customer expectations. Supports Sales Operations volume, profitability, and other goals.
Knowledge, Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Business/Supply Chain preferred; two to three years of relevant experience, or equivalent years of education and experience. At least five years' experience in a customer service/fulfillment role in a manufacturing environment. Excellent analytical skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Proficient skills with MS Office and MS Dynamics AX. Ability to work on complex projects and interact professionally with all levels of management. Thorough knowledge of Malarkey products and materials. Ability to perform basic math calculations with addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Ability to work independently and in team setting while maintaining a calm, positive attitude even in stressful situations. Has excellent written and oral communication skills.
