POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for inbound/outbound customer service and collection related contact.
- RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan course of action to recover outstanding debt.
Negotiate payoff deadlines or payment plans.
- Handle questions or complaints
- Update account status and database regularly
REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Customer Service experience preferred
- Customer service – collections agents are customer-facing representatives of hospital business office clients.
- Negotiation – working with customers to resolve their debts, whether through a payment plan or a lump-sum settlement amount, is a vital part of the self-pay collector’s role.
- Persuasion – in addition to negotiation skills, collector should be persuasive in explaining why it is in a customer’s best interest to resolve outstanding balances.
- Basic computer skills
- Professional phone voice
- You will be required to pass a credit check
