Student Internship / Residential/Crisis Residential/Detox Program - Chestnut Health Systems

Overview

Part-time, 9 month (2 semester), unpaid internship, working with adult men and women in our Residential, Crisis Residential and Detoxification Programs. 

Chestnut Health Systems is a leading provider of behavioral and primary health care services. Over four decades, Chestnut has grown to over 700 committed, compassionate employees providing substance use, mental health and primary care treatment to patients in Central and Southern Illinois. We provide fully integrated care for all of our patients by combining behavioral health care services with our community-based primary care health centers. Chestnut also conducts research and training throughout the U.S.A.

Responsibilities

Duties include: direct supervision of clients, assisting clients in accessing continuing services for after they complete their crisis and/or detox stays, and conducting educational groups when assigned.

Qualifications

Applicants must be at least 20 or older, working towards a degree in a social science field, and willing to work at least 15 hours per week.
