Position Title: Patient Care Coordinator
Work Hours:
+ Monday to Thursday: 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM
+ Friday: 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM
Overview: We are seeking a Patient Care Coordinator who is patient, friendly, and outgoing. The ideal candidate will handle a variety of tasks including managing incoming and outgoing calls, walk-in appointments, filing, taking prescriptions, verifying insurance, and calling doctor offices to verify appointments. A significant part of this role involves insurance verification, which requires navigating various insurance portals and programs.
Essential Job Duties:
+ Attendance and Punctuality: Adhere to punctuality and dependability policies.
+ Communication: Answer incoming calls and maintain open communication with patients, referral sources, and corporate and branch offices in other territories. Verify the caller's location to transfer calls appropriately.
+ Patient Registration: Schedule and register patients promptly and courteously, ensuring accurate and complete patient documentation.
+ Software Use: Learn and use the software.
+ Insurance Verification: Verify insurance information and process orders in the system, maintaining a current status on orders.
+ Order Processing: Handle outbound calls to customers to process orders, which can take anywhere from 30 to 120 days.
+ Multi-tasking: Manage a high volume of calls and multi-task effectively in a busy office environment.
Work Environment:
+ The office sees over 50 patients a day and receives a high volume of calls, requiring strong multi-tasking abilities.
+ The current Patient Care Coordinator is struggling with processes, so adaptability and problem-solving skills are essential.
+ The office serves a geriatric population with Medicare Advantage and Commercial benefits.
+ The environment is family-oriented, fostering a supportive and collaborative atmosphere.
Dress Code:
+ Business casual attire is required.
+ Dark blue scrubs are acceptable.
Qualifications:
+ A medical background is highly preferred but not mandatory.
+ Strong communication and listening skills, both in person and over the phone.
+ Excellent reading comprehension.
+ Ability to demonstrate problem-solving abilities independently with minimal assistance.
+ Comfortable working with diverse clientele.
+ Willingness to ask questions, collaborate with staff members, and maintain a positive attitude.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00
