As a Customer Service Representative, you will interact with people all day. Customers will be happy to see your smiling face in the office when they enter the branch. Your top priority will be to provide them with an exceptional sales and service experience. You will be tooled with the knowledge and resources to be able to assist customers with their financial needs. Each customer is unique and your job will be to ask questions and listen to be able to provide banking solutions that meet their unique needs.
You are motivated to achieve your goals and you cheer on your co-workers to meet theirs too. You will wear multiple hats and are prepared to fill in at the Teller Line or assist your manager with various projects as needed. You are excited to uncover an opportunity to refer business to your banking partners in Mortgage, Commercial and Treasury. You will be proactive in tracking and reporting your sales and referral activities.
You will receive a lot of training so you will know the products, services and how things work at Merc. Banking is always changing so it is your responsibility to continue to stay informed of changes. You are excited to be a resource to others and share information with your team members and customers.
You promote Mercantile bank through community involvement and leverage your contacts to create a pipeline of new business. You get great satisfaction out of positively impacting so many lives!
Customer Service Representative: Requirements and Qualifications- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 2 years' experience in customer service in a retail sales environment
- Experience with needs-based selling and providing exceptional customer service
- Experience working in Retail Banking is preferred
On average, this position works banking hours Monday - Friday, 8:30 am - 5:00 pmSome Saturdays will be required from 8:30 am - 12:30 pm. Community activities may require evening and weekend hours. Day travel may be required for meetings and training.
