Position Summary:
The Customer Service Representative in Healthcare plays a vital role in ensuring patients and their families have a positive experience. This individual will be the primary point of contact for patients, providing assistance with scheduling appointments, answering inquiries, resolving issues, and coordinating with healthcare providers to ensure seamless service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and assist patients in-person, via phone, or through email with professionalism and empathy.
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments, manage cancellations, and reschedule as needed.
- Respond promptly to inquiries about services, insurance, billing, and other patient concerns.
- Maintain patient records and ensure accuracy in data entry while adhering to confidentiality and HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers and administrative staff to address patient needs and resolve issues efficiently.
- Process payments, verify insurance coverage, and provide information about financial assistance programs, if applicable.
- Educate patients about clinic policies, procedures, and available healthcare services.
- Monitor and follow up on outstanding patient concerns, ensuring a timely resolution.
- Act as an advocate for the patient, ensuring their experience is positive and stress-free.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; an associate degree or certification in healthcare administration is a plus.
- Prior experience in a healthcare, customer service, or administrative role preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with a focus on empathy and active listening.
- Proficiency in using electronic medical records (EMR) systems, scheduling software, and basic office tools.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Knowledge of healthcare terminology and insurance processes is an advantage.
- Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA regulations.

The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
