Remarks:
Under general supervision, Customer Service Associates are responsible for analyzing, processing and preparing the billing and research work for demand and non-demand accounts. This position is also responsible for receiving and processing cash transactions. The Customer Service Associate maintains all pertinent records and assists employees of a higher grade when necessary. Customer Service Associates must be courteous, tactful and exercise patience in dealing with customers, interfacing departments and the general public. Customer Service Associates must demonstrate excellent interpersonal, listening, written and verbal communication skills. Incumbents must successfully complete company training for this position.
DUTIES:
- Compiles, produces, generates and analyzes data. Prepares and inputs on-line computer transactions and other entries necessary to create, maintain and correct customer billing.
- Corrects and processes demand & non-demand billing, discrepancy listing items and rate changes.
- Reviews results of information obtained from field observation for accuracy. Analyze company records and field order results and presents findings in a clear and concise format withrecommendations.Updates accounts as necessary.
- Prepares monthly reconciliations of accounts receivable and various revenue analysis reports. Balances cash posting of day and night deposits and the cash journal entry.
- Requests, prepares and analyzes on-line and manual statements.
- Contacts customers to arrange and verify appointments for meter readings, initiates necessary field orders and processes meter readings for billing purposes.
- Obtains statements of accounts from outside agencies to insure correct payment processing.
- Maintains and processes sale order entry and tracking.
- Researches company records for information needed to resolve customer inquires. Initiates field orders with appropriate instructions for field personnel.
- Processes sales tax exemptions, abatements and related transactions.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Must successfully pass Company approved testing.
2. Must have working knowledge of PC applications.
3. Must have high school diploma or equivalent. Bachelor Degree preferred.
4. Must have at least 1 year of experience in a customer related environment
5. Accounting and/or Finance background preferred.
