SUMMARY
This position is primarily responsible for answering customer phone calls, assisting walk-in customers at the front counter, gathering data and recording Wet Chemistry Lab results for quality assurance before reporting to the customer, and assist in processing customer reports.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist customers over the phone and at the front desk with selecting services to meet their needs, interpreting reports, sample status, etc.
- Record data from chemistry test results and populate together per sample
- Responsible for checking Wet Chemistry results and NIR results prior to reporting
- Set up new customer accounts in system database
- Assist with customer inquiries
- Assist with data entry of customer results
- Assist with various office clerical duties, including back up to shipping
- Other duties as assigned by Supervisor

- Proficient in Microsoft Office products

- Move around in an office environment and/or a laboratory setting during a workday

- Working knowledge of modern office procedures and methods including telephone communications, office systems and record keeping
- Working knowledge of methodologies and chemistry analysis
- Produce accurate and high-quality materials and data entry
- Coordinate multiple and changing priorities
- Basic service and sales skills
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma or GED, required
- Previous customer service experience (1-2 years), required
- Associate's Degree (Dairy Nutrition, Feed & Forage), preferred
- Must have working experience with excel programs, required

WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Work is performed largely in a production style lab environment with high noise levels
- Concentration in an open-office "cubicle" environment
- There may be occasions when the work environment is stressful
- Work schedule will normally be Monday through Friday with occasional weekend hours depending upon need
- Will be exposed to, but not limited to, feed, forage, dust, molds, smoke, strong odors, and allergens (i.e. nuts) on a regular basis
- Must wear personal protective equipment where required
