Position Purpose
Under frequent supervision, assists Customer Accounting Specialists and Manager, Billing & Collections in handling and resolving matters of billing and collections for the company’s delinquent accounts.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
Answer direct bill phone line
Apply payments received via mail to direct bill account
Assist Customer Accounting Specialists in matters of payment reconciliation.
Assist Customer Specialist in collections once the Specialist can’t collect or the agent wants to direct collect. Contacts accounts via phone and mail and sends accounts to collections agencies if needed.
Sort daily output for Customer Accounting Specialists.
Prepare forms for mail room after Customer Accounting Specialist review.
Monitor the premium accounting inbox and respond to requests as needed or file for Customer Accounting Specialist response.
Assist with commission payments.
Assist Customer Accounting Specialists with Accounts Payable batches, copying, scanning, mail runs, treasury runs, and other miscellaneous tasks.
Assist with miscellaneous.
Education & Experience
Typically requires a high school diploma
0+ years of related experience
[OR] equivalent level of education and experience
Knowledge, Skills, & Competencies
Ability to research simple to moderately complex billing and collection issues and recommend appropriate actions.
Ability to communicate effectively with all internal and external contacts involved in the billing and collection processes.
Ability to use Microsoft Office software as well as general ledger and billing and collections applications to identify, analyze, and resolve billing and collection issues.
The starting base pay for this position is dependent on a variety of non-discriminatory factors, including but not limited to relevant skills, experience, education, specialty, and internal equity. The base pay range for this position, based on expected work location and job level is:
