About the Job
We are looking for a skilled Millwork Carpenter to join the growing team at our Aubrey facility.The Custom Millwork Carpenter performs a variety of tasks to facilitate the fabrication of doors and frames made to order specifications.
Prescott Industries is a small business in Aubrey, TX. We are professional, agile and a leader in the wood door and frame industry. We manufacture architectural wood and laminate doors, artisan hardwood doors for residential application, as well as wood door frames and components. These are used for a variety of industries including offices, hotels/resorts, educational facilities, healthcare/hospitals, institutional/ buildings, and residential homes. Your Responsibilities
• Fabricate, assemble, and finish custom millwork including frames and doors to customer specifications.
• Operate and monitor machinery, including but not limited to a pre-hanging machine.
• Produce high-quality work that conforms to standards.
• Inspect products for any abnormalities.
• Collaborate with other departments, such as drafting and CNC programming.
• Maintain equipment and supplies.
• Maintain a clean work area so that hazards and debris are removed.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
• Work overtime as needed.
Your Education and Experience
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 1-3 years custom millwork or woodworking experience required.
• Production or industrial setting work experience preferred.
Your Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Able to read blueprints and determine customer specifications.
• Good math skills.
• Experience using and reading a tape measure.
• Attention to detail- precise measurements ensure high craftsmanship.
• Good verbal communication skills and works well with others.
• Hardworking and motivated to learn a variety of skills.
• Familiarity with hand and power tools, electric hydraulic and air-powered a plus.
• Able to work overtime as needed.
• Bilingual English/Spanish language a plus.
Physical Requirements
• Prolonged periods of standing and walking on concrete.
• Ability to climb stairs.
• Pushing, pulling, bending, twisting, and frequent lifting of heavy objects.
• Must be able to move and lift up to 100 pounds unassisted.
• Must be able to lift up to 150 pounds with assistance.
• Must be able to push weights up to 500 pounds with a team.
• Manual dexterity as needed to fabricate custom millwork and operate a variety of machinery and equipment.
• Visual acuity to inspect products and machinery.
• Must be able to work in a non-climate-controlled environment and tolerate exposure to typical noises and smells associated with the plant.
Pay: $18 - 20/hr Depending on Experience
OT available
Schedule: Day shift, Monday to Friday
