JOB SUMMARYResponsible for performing interior and exterior building cleaning maintenance in assigned areas. Responsibilities include activities such as building cleaning, collecting trash and debris, moving, and arranging furniture, and helping to maintain the overall appearance and safety of University's property and buildings. Position requires communication primarily with other custodial staff and secondarily with other University employees and students. Works as a member of the Facility and Plant Operations Department.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB (provide list of items which are essential to effective outcomes in this role):- Requires cleaning, of the following, but is not limited to carpet and tile, walls, windows, doors, furniture, restrooms, offices, porches and sidewalks. Cleaning includes regular maintenance cleanings, spot or stain removal, and detail cleaning of specific areas for special events.
- Knowledge and experience of basic custodial related tasks, tools and techniques.
- Works with Campus Facilities Coordinator on specialized tasks such as inventory of equipment and/or maintenance of mechanical/electrical systems.
- Performs work for University special events requiring event "set ups" and "tear downs".
- Requires lifting and carrying of heavy objects.
- Must work cooperatively with others within and outside of the department to provide a complete and efficient service.
- Must have a positive work attendance, work in a variety of environments and climatic conditions, have flexibility to work evenings and weekend hours, and the willingness to work overtime as necessary.
