About the Job
Wilkes University invites applicants for a Mid-shift Custodial Worker for (Sunday through Thursday, 2:00 pm 10:30 pm) in the Campus Support Services department to begin immediately.
The successful candidate must be able to work independently and is responsible for daily cleaning of restrooms, classrooms, hallways and offices areas in such buildings as residence halls, athletic areas, administrative and academic buildings. The Custodial Worker will provide cleaning and sanitation services in addition to the use of light floor machines and attachments (e.g. vacuums, floor buffers, carpet extractors, etc.), perform general maintenance work (e.g. replace light bulbs, plunge toilets, etc.), assist with event set-ups and seasonal grounds maintenance as well as removal and transportation of garbage and recyclables from throughout campus. A high school diploma or GED and a valid PA driver's license are required. The ideal candidate is required to have proficient technical skills to perform associated tasks, the ability to lift 40 lbs. and the ability to read and comprehend safety regulations and other documentation pertinent to the position. Basic knowledge of computers (Word, Excel and web based applications) strongly preferred. Candidates must successfully pass a background check.
