Custodian - Dynamic Manufacturing

Job Purpose

The Custodian will support Matric by understanding customer needs and their respective job duties. They will work to increase customer engagement by providing support to current and prospective customers by demonstrating dedication to quality, quantity, and safety.

The Custodian's main responsibility is to clean, disinfect and sanitize the Matric workspaces. Properly dispose of cleaning supplies and waste.

All associates have a personal responsibility and accountability to ensure their day-to-day activities adhere to Matric's quality and environmental policies.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Manufacturing areas
  • Dust mop all manufacturing floors
  • Machine scrub all manufacturing area floors.
  • Detail all manufacturing area floors.
  • Wax and buff all manufacturing area floors.
  • Empty waste baskets throughout facility.
  • Clean all windows inside and outside.
  • Keep outside waste containers and area in order.
  • Light duty snow removal of walk areas.
  • Keep workstations and equipment clean and in order.

• Washrooms
  • Clean, sanitize and polish all vitreous fixtures including bowls, urinals and hand basins.
  • Clean all glass and mirrors.
  • Empty all containers and disposable, insert liners as required, spot clean and sanitize container.
  • Clean walls, partitions and doors.
  • Refill all dispensers including: soap, tissue, towel and liners.
  • Clean floors

• General, offices, lobby, conference rooms, halls and lunchroom areas
  • Empty all trash
  • Dusting all furniture, desks, monitors, chairs, tables, windowsills,
  • Sanitize drinking fountains, lunch tables, microwaves, chairs, containers and telephones.
  • Vacuum all carpet areas, chairs, and partitions.
  • Shampoo carpet and chairs
  • Apply washroom duties as listed above.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Shall have a general understanding to operate floor scrubbers for carpets and hard floors, vacuum sweepers and buffers.
• Knowledge of different cleaning products and tools.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Physical strength and stamina for heavy cleaning work.

Physical requirements (if applicable)

• Must be able to regularly lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to use equipment for cleaning floors.
• Ability to reach within hands/arm's length, stoop, kneel and crouch.
