Custodian- DCMH 702 - Preventive Measures

The below statements are intended to describe the general nature and scope of work being performed by this position. This is not a complete listing of all responsibilities, duties and/or skills required as other duties may be assigned.

Perform routing cleaning tasks based on a schedule created by the facility management team.

Wash and sanitize toilets and sink and restock disposables like soap, paper towels, air fresheners etc.

Ensure break room sink, microwave, refrigerator, tables, chairs and all surfaces and utensils are always clean.

Ensure workspaces are prepared for the next day by taking out trash, tidying furniture and dusting surfaces.

Ensure that the entire premises are clean and free of any obstacles throughout entire work shift.

Display caution signs and verbally caution staff and visitors while areas are always being cleaned to ensure safety.

Perform maintenance and minor repairs (replacing broken switches, fixing door handles, minor leaks etc.)

Report major damages and oversee repair.

Undertake occasional custodial and janitorial tasks (shoveling snow from the sidewalk, lifting heavy items, moving furniture etc.)

The Custodian is responsible for keeping a running inventory of all cleaning supplies and submitting purchasing requests when supplies get low.

Other duties as assigned.
