About the Job
A part-time, temporary position for a Curatorial Research Associate is available to begin January 2025 and is expected to run through September 2025. Reporting to the Nancy and Fred Poses Curator, the incumbent will work on a ground-breaking retrospective exhibition artist Roy Lichtenstein. They will work alongside curatorial and publications staff to realize the exhibition and publication; responsibilities will include planning and conducting archival research, checklist management, compiling bibliographic backmatter, obtaining image use permissions, and logistical support. The incumbent will also lead the planning and convening of catalogue essayists in anticipation for the publication.
Responsibilities
- Scholarly research in archives
- Corresponding with external contacts and working closely with Exhibitions and Publications departments, among other departments
- Domestic travel to conduct on-site research in archives outside of New York
- Coordination of timelines and project milestones
- Management of checklists, databases, and files
Job Requirements
- M.A. in art history (PhD a plus)
- 3 years of museum/gallery or related experience
- Demonstrated interest and expertise in Pop Art and specifically the work of Roy Lichtenstein
- Excellent computer skills, including experience with TMS and Microsoft Office, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Excellent writing skills
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Initiative and collaborative spirit

Compensation: Hourly rate of $30.82
