A Long Term Care company with multiple facilities in the State of West Virginia is currently recruiting a Culinary Director to lead the dietary department of a facility in Taylor County, WV.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
- Previous cook experience in a healthcare environment.
- 2 - 4 years management experience preferred, but we are willing to train and develop the right candidate.
- Certified Dietary Manager preferred. We can help the right candidate navigate certification process upon hire.
- ServSafe certification preferred. We can help the right candidate obtain certification upon hire.
- Prior experience utilizing computers, preferably for Nutritional Care software applications.
JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Direct the team functions of the culinary activities in accordance with the established policies and procedures.
- Make sure that sufficient culinary staffing levels are met to ensure delivery of quality resident care.
- Supervise in orientation and training of new employees and participate in their ongoing training.
- Implement menus and recipes and maintain standards of culinary methodology and practices.
- Develop and communicate shift assignments for culinary staff and monitor job performance.
- Maintain quality food services by hands-on management, which includes cooking, tasting, seasoning, and serving food.
- Communicate with ancillary departments and culinary staff at shift change on resident conditions, needs, and concerns.
- Ensure that the culinary staff follows the established departmental policies and procedures.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the operational aspects of culinary department.
- Manage the resources available in the role of culinary director while ensuring that needed resources are available and that quality care is delivered to all residents.
- Provide professional culinary services to all residents.
- Maintain and work within established departmental, center, and corporate policies and procedures, objectives, quality improvement program, and safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
- Participate in and provide scheduled training, educational classes, and orientation programs to maintain licensure of self and certification of team and enhance quality of care.
