Overview:
The CT Technologist (CT Tech) position in Florida is a critical role within the healthcare system, responsible for producing high-quality images used in diagnosing and treating various medical conditions. As a CT Tech, you will operate advanced imaging equipment, ensuring that patients are positioned correctly and that safe radiation exposure levels are maintained.
This role demands not only technical skills but also a compassionate approach to patient care, making you an integral part of the healthcare team. Key Responsibilities:
Perform CT scans according to protocols and established procedures.
Position patients accurately to ensure high-quality imaging results.
Monitor patients' comfort and safety during procedures.
Prepare and administer contrast materials when necessary.
Maintain and operate CT equipment in compliance with safety standards.
Ensure the cleanliness and proper functioning of the imaging suite.
Review images for clarity and accuracy prior to reporting.
Collaborate with radiologists to discuss findings and ensure complete imaging.
Document patient information and scan results in the electronic health record (EHR).
Stay current with advancements in imaging technology and techniques.
Assist in training and mentoring new staff or students as needed.
Participate in quality control and assurance activities.
Adhere to radiation safety standards to minimize exposure to patients and staff.
Respond to emergencies and provide basic life support when necessary.
Educate patients about the procedures, ensuring they understand the process.
Required Qualifications:
Associate's degree in Radiologic Technology or a related field.
Current certification in CT technology from ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists).
State licensure to practice as a Radiologic Technologist.
Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in CT imaging.
Registered Radiographer (ARRT) (R) (CT) registry preferred
Florida State Registered Radiologic Technologist
Graduate from an accredited Radiology Technology School
