Job Description Summary
Under the direct supervision of the Meducare Operations Coordinator with direction from the Meducare Program Director, the Meducare Critical Care Paramedic (CCEMT-P) is responsible for the transport of patients and primary patient assessment, stabilization and preparation for ambulance transport of critically ill and injured patients within their DHEC certification guidelines and MUSC protocols. The CCEMT-P is responsible for inter-facility and emergency transports of the patient needing more definitive care during transport. The EMT-P is responsible for assuring that the ambulance is checked off each shift to ensure all equipment and supplies are stocked and the ambulance is operational in compliance with DHEC rules and regulations and MEDUCARE guidelines.

Additional Job Description
High school diploma and five years experience as an Emergency Medical Technician – Paramedic (EMT-P) in an Emergency Medical System (EMS) responsible for direct patient care.
Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations: EMT-P, ACLS, BCLS, CCEMT-P required. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.
