Spectrum Healthcare Resources has a potential opportunity for civilian a Critical Care Registered Nurse at the Travis AFB. This position provides nursing services in support of patient care and treatment.

Job Requirements:
The Critical Care Nurse will have the following requirements:
- Any State License
- Minimum of 1 year of experience
- BLS Certification
- Support (BCLS) by the American Heart Association.
- In addition to BCLS,certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is required for theCritical Care Unit.
- Candidate must possess pediatric advance life support(PALS).
- Completion of critical care training course or completion of anequitable platform (i.e., Essentials of Critical Care Orientation [ECCO], online
- course from the American Association of Critical Care Nurses preferred, but not required.
Duties
- Ability to react with alertness and skill in any emergency situation, (e.g., cardiacor respiratory arrest, hemorrhage, shock, severe physical trauma and psychiatricreaction). Serves as member of the Rapid Response Team (RRT) and Code Blueresuscitation/response team.
- Knowledge of interpersonal relationships and the ability to maintain composure andreact appropriately while relating to patients, families, physicians, coworkers andancillary staff; manage distraught, irritable, unreasonable or angry individuals; andmaintain positive rapport with all individuals involved in patient care.
- Knowledge of a wide range of medical disorders and conditions as appropriateand seen in critically ill patients (e.g., Ventilator Associated pneumonia and theVAP bundle, Sepsis, and ARDS).
- Knowledge of professional care theories, principles, practices, and procedures toperform nursing assignments of critically ill patients. Demonstrates knowledge ofgrowth and development, and pathophysiology of disease processes specific to thecritical care unit population to include all ages from adult to geriatrics.
- Identify impending or existing emotional or psychiatric crisis and provideappropriate intervention.
- Reassess patient's condition and revise plan of care based on identified nursingproblems.
- Assess patient/family knowledge level, implement plan of instructions and recordpatient/family demonstrated level of understanding.
- Obtain patient history, pertinent family history, and document in patient’s medicalrecord.
- Communicate pertinent patient data to charge nurse and/or physician asappropriate.
- Reassess patient's condition and revise plan of care based on identified nursingproblems.
- Assess and document patient response to medications administered and interveneif desired response is not achieved.
- Administer inhalation therapy treatments, with knowledge of medications utilizedin this treatment and reactions.
