About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Crisis Therapist to join our team on a contracted basis, providing in-person support to individuals in Union County, Oregon. This role will focus on offering crisis intervention services in a variety of settings, including jails, hospitals, and community facilities. The ideal candidate is committed to making a difference, skilled in handling high-pressure situations, and capable of providing culturally competent care to diverse populations.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide immediate crisis assessment, intervention, and stabilization services to individuals experiencing mental health or emotional crises.
- Work closely with law enforcement, jail staff, and healthcare providers to support individuals in correctional facilities and other settings.
- Conduct individual therapy sessions and develop short-term treatment plans for crisis resolution.
- Coordinate with community resources to ensure appropriate follow-up care and referrals.
- Document all services provided in compliance with legal, ethical, and organizational standards.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss cases and develop intervention strategies.
- Stay updated on best practices in crisis intervention and trauma-informed care.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field.
- Must meet the qualifications of a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) in the state of Oregon.
- Demonstrated experience in crisis intervention, de-escalation techniques, and trauma-informed care.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, including law enforcement and healthcare professionals.
- Familiarity with community mental health resources in Oregon is a plus.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and have reliable transportation for travel within Union County.
Work Environment
- All work is conducted in-person; no remote work options are available.
- Primary locations include correctional facilities, hospitals, and other community-based settings within Union County.
- The role may require occasional evening or weekend availability to meet the needs of individuals in crisis.
Compensation
This is a contracted role offering competitive hourly pay of $40–$55, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
