The Criminal Justice Technician 1 (CJT1) works under direction to provide routine support of essential services to assist in the daily operation of the Department of Public Safety’s Statewide Services Online Reporting System and CJIS Record Validations. The CJT1 will provide non-complex technical and administrative support to the general public, law enforcement users, and administrators of these applications. The position performs on-the-job training to learn to adequately assist in the support of law enforcement applications.
The Criminal Justice Technician 2 (CJT2) works independently to provide a variety of advanced paraprofessional support to essential services for the daily maintenance and operation of the Department of Public Safety’s Statewide Services Online Reporting System and CJIS Record Validations. The CJT2 will provide advanced technical and administrative support to the general public, law enforcement users, and administrators of these applications.

THE WORKING CONDITIONS YOU CAN EXPECT:
This position is located in the city of Ketchikan in Southeast Alaska. The physical office location is in the Alaska State Troopers A-South Post, located at 7366 N. Tongass Hwy. The daily work environment consists of individual workstations in a dedicated office of task-driven individuals within the Trooper facility. The incumbent will work closely with team members to support the mission of processing online reports, validating CJIS records, and supporting DPS staff.
