About the Role - What you can expect:
Connect with Members and Communities: The Public Relations & Union Development Representative plays a vital role in fulfilling our mission of improving members' financial lives. You'll connect with members, staff, and unions/SEGs while representing Qualstar's vision of being "the most trusted financial partner for hardworking people."
Plan and Execute Impactful Activities: Your week will include activities such as conducting financial education classes, attending union meetings, and representing Qualstar at membership-focused events like golf tournaments, benefits fairs, and Boys & Girls Club programs. You'll visit union halls to strengthen relationships, plan and execute educational programs for diverse audiences, and collaborate with branches, the call center, and lending departments to enhance participation in campaigns and initiatives.
Enhance Digital Engagement: Additionally, you will contribute to social media content and digital platforms to engage members and promote financial literacy. Flexibility is key, as your schedule may include early mornings, evenings, and occasional weekends for special events.
Foster Personal and Professional Growth: This role offers opportunities for collaboration, creativity, and personal growth. You will connect with diverse audiences, manage meaningful projects, and play an essential part in enhancing financial literacy and community impact. The flexibility in hours and location allows you to tailor your work environment to maximize productivity and satisfaction. Work Environment:
This role requires occasional attendance at union-sponsored events outside of standard business hours and overnight travel within Washington and Oregon. Additionally, while much of the work can be performed remotely using company-provided hardware, you will also have access to our Bothell office as needed. The role typically combines time spent in the field, in the office, and working from home, depending on the demands of the position.

Qualifications we are looking for:

- Strong self-management and time management skills are essential.

- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Willingness to continuously learn and grow, both about the organization's products and services and through ongoing personal skill development.
- Basic proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and a general aptitude for learning new systems.
- Valid driver's license, proof of insurance, and reliable transportation for occasional travel within Washington and Oregon.
- Applicants with experience in credit union member service, event coordination, public speaking, or Spanish-speaking skills will be strongly preferred.
