Position Summary:
Credit Specialist The role is a key part of the credit granting process, which includes the consistent application of a credit policy, the periodic credit reviews of existing customers, the creditworthiness assessment of potential customers. For a successful credit function to ensure Company policies, guidelines and strategies are followed, while balancing the desire to be responsive to the customer needs and expectations.
Responsibilities:• Determines credit worthiness of new and existing customers
• Gathers financial information, verifies truthfulness, and exercises judgment on customers’ credit worthiness based on said information
• Assists in the analysis and assessment of credit issues falling outside Company policies and guidelines and advises management in accordance with the credit policy
• Reviews orders to ensure timely fulfillment of customer orders and service expectations
• Develops effective relationships and problem solving with internal and external customers to understand their process, key players and how to work efficiently within their system for meeting financial requirements and managing the credit risk exposure
• Confidential handling of sensitive financial data is crucial
• Performs other duties as assigned
• Knowledge typically gained through 1-3 years of practical experience in Credit and/or Collections
• Ability to tactfully communicate (oral and written) with customers and make effective decisions in how the account should be handled
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and technology applications experience
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail are required
• Ability to work in a team environment in making business decisions and implementing the credit granting process
Experience & Education
• AA degree or equivalent is preferred but not required
• One to three (1-3) years within the credit field, or equivalent experience
Position is hybrid to be onsite at West Hills. CA HQ 3 days a week (Tues: Weds. Thurs)
*Compensation range is from S21 an hour to S24 an hour
Physical Requirements
• All positions will require, to some degree, the physical abilities described below to perform the essential functions of the job
• Work the expected hours, consistently arrive at work at the agreed time and follow Company rules and guidelines regarding breaks and meal periods. Full time is typically considered to be 40 hours per week
• Communicate effectively, both oral (in person and on the phone) and written.
• Move around and through all work areas as needed, may include climbing stairs or ladders
• Lift and/or move up to 10 pounds (i.e. books, reports, binders etc.)
• Regularly sit at the assigned workstation
• Use keyboard or equivalent equipment, to access the computer,
• Use hands to manipulate documents and general paperwork to view contents
• Read documents, reports, files etc.
• Communicate effectively using the telephone
