As the Credit Services Support Specialist I, you will perform clerical and administrative duties for the Credit Services Department. They handle member inquiries, perform account transactions and process repossessions. They provide accurate and timely support to the Credit Services and Collections teams.
Every day you will:
- Consistently demonstrate alignment with OCCU vision and values.
- Post payments and transactions, print checks and perform file maintenance.
- Perform account maintenance including ACH payments, internal transfers and statement settings.
- Prepare, file and retrieve loan files and other documents.
- Process collection agency payments and respond to related calls.
- Process incoming and outgoing department mail and print requests.
- Maintain the collections area of the vault and adhere to record retention procedures.
- Process estate claims and incoming checks for garnishments.
- Assist with GAP claims.
- Assign charged off accounts to outside collection agencies and update collection agencies as needed.
- Prepare and assign accounts for repossession using repossession software or directly with the repossession agent. Gather collateral status information and update as needed.
- Maintain all records during the repossession process.
- Process incoming repossessed collateral.
- File insurance claims on repossessed assets, including damage, GAP, skip and premium deficiency claims as needed.
- Request and recover unearned insurance premiums, extended warranty premiums and all other add-on items that were financed into the loans.
- Process bills for repair and sale of auto repossessions and upload to accounting for payment.
- Arrange for transportation as needed.
- Support related vendor relationships, including auctions and repossession agents.
- Monitor and order office supplies. Maintain department equipment including printers and copiers.
- Must adhere to the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act and all other regulatory standards and internal procedures.
To thrive in this role, you must have:
- A minimum of six months of similar or related experience supporting a team in an administrative capacity.
- Strong typing skills.
- Proficiency with MS Suites.
