Salary Range: $50,000 - $70,000 depending on experience
Location: Seattle, WA. 3 days In-Office and 2-day Work From Home (WFH). WFH starts after initial training is completed.
Reports To: Credit Manager
Aqua Star is a Seattle based privately-owned, American seafood company founded in 1990. We are a leading global frozen seafood sales, marketing, and distribution enterprise. We serve food service customers, such as restaurant chains and seafood distributors, as well as retail customers: food retailers, retail wholesalers, & club warehouses.
We are looking to fill the role of Collections Specialist at our corporate headquarters in Seattle, WA. The main responsibilities for this role will be B2B accounts receivable collections, customer account reconciliation, review and organize new account set up.
The ideal candidate is self – motivated to produce high quality, detailed work based on established standards, using their valued technical expertise.
Responsibilities:
Collections:
- Manage a portfolio of 200+ customer accounts.
- Monitor accounts receivable aging and follow up on overdue payments.
- Contact customers via phone, email, and other communication channels to secure payment.
- Develop repayment plans as needed.
- Resolve billing discrepancies and disputes in a timely manner.
- Escalate delinquent accounts to management for further action.
- Cross Train in Billing.
- Cross train in Cash Application.
Deductions Management:
- Investigate and analyze a high volume of deductions.
- Identify root causes of deductions and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Collaborate with sales, customer service, and other departments to resolve deductions.
- Maintain deduction logs and track resolution progress.
- Provide insights and recommendations to improve deduction management processes.
Credit:
- Evaluate creditworthiness of new and existing customers.
- Maintain accurate customer credit files and records.
- Weekly account reconciliation.
- Perform Periodic Credit Reviews.
- Assist with Month End tasks as assigned.
- Assist with Audit requests as assigned.
- Perform special projects as requested.
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Experience working with Microsoft Dynamics AX desirable.
- 2+ years experience as AR/Credit/Collections Specialist or similar role.
- Strong Math and Computer Skills desirable.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and verbal/written communication skills required.
- Beginner experience with Microsoft Excel required.
Education:
- BA or AA degree in Accounting highly preferred or equivalent experience
