Salary: $70,000 - $80,000 plus bonus

Key Responsibilities of Credit and Collections Manager Role:

• Evaluate customer creditworthiness and establish appropriate credit terms.
• Gather and analyze financial data and other relevant information to determine credit limits for new customers.
• Monitor accounts receivable to ensure timely management of past-due balances.
• Communicate with customers to facilitate collections as needed.
• Assess the collectability of overdue accounts and determine when balances should be written off as bad debt.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with major accounts to expedite collections and address overdue balances swiftly.
• Oversee collections for large national and regional accounts, utilizing existing systems and exercising sound judgment.
• Prepare uncollectible account files for referral to external collection agencies and collaborate with legal counsel to enforce PACA (Perishable Agricultural Commodities Act) provisions when applicable.
• Manage customer account applications and ensure ownership linkages are correctly established to assess and assign risk accurately.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Minimum of 7 years’ experience in credit and collections
• Leadership experience of at least 2 years is preferred.
• Prior experience in wholesale distribution, particularly within the food industry, is highly desirable.
