Major Global Bank seeks 2-3 Bilingual Japanese Credit Analysts - Entry level to Senior level. Work locations will be hybrid, depending on your location, such as New York City, downtown Los Angeles, or Dallas.
Overview:
Japanese & Asian Corporate Banking Department is hiring a Bilingual Japanese/English Credit Analyst in New York city, downtown Los Angeles or Dallas. This position will be responsible for proceeding periodic credit monitoring and underwriting activity for an assigned portfolio of accounts. This role will be preparing credit applications, reviewing quarterly loan reports, conducting regular credit reviews of loans in the portfolio, providing research and analytics, and other administrative tasks as required.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct analysis and research on the performance of borrowers to assess historical performance and future projections.
- Perform quarterly and annual reviews of loan portfolio and handle a variety of system and procedural issues related to the borrowers such as internal grading, monthly/quarterly reporting, and other ad hoc projects.
- Prepare credit applications, support due diligence processes and day-to-day administrative activities for transactions.
- Assist in the creation of internal reports, including those reports relating to exposure, budget and inventory as well as ad hoc reports for management.
- Gather support documentation to structure deals and assist in drafting pre screen memos for the Credit Department.
- Undertake research and analytics related to specific sectors, regions or loans, and stay abreast of current market conditions.
Qualifications:
- Formal credit training preferred.
- minimum 1-2 years of experience working at a corporate bank or other financial institution.
- Some knowledge of banking and prior internships at a bank or financial institution preferred.
- Highly proficient MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills are required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business or Accounting preferred or equivalent education and training.
- Japanese language skills (business+ level) required.
- Experience in preparing credit applications, performing cash flow analysis, ability to read and interpret financial statements, and strong accounting skills.
