About the Job
The Credentialing Specialist is responsible for processing placement, gathering and verifying healthcare practitioner information and adding it to a database. Primary methods of researching and communicating information include phones, internet, faxes and emails. Adheres to company mission and core values.
Responsibilities
- Review and process placement in accordance with client, company and Joint Commission Standards
- Contact provider to gather and update documentation for assignment
- Research verification information via the Internet and other electronic and hardcopy databases
- Contact primary sources (e.g. licensing boards, etc.) to verify provider information
- Input provider information into databases
- File provider documents in electronic file
- Maintain and update provider file in compliance with company policy and facility deadline
- Review provider information for accuracy and completeness
- Review and organize files for accuracy and completeness in preparation for assignment
- Audit assigned credentialing files for accuracy and completeness
- Contribute to a positive culture
- Build camaraderie and inspires teamwork and trust within the team
Qualifications
- Type 35 wpm
- Clear and concise phone and verbal communication skills
- Good letter writing and written communication skills
- Detail oriented and attentiveness to accuracy
- Problem solving and reasoning skills
- Interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to learn and use a database
- Ability to work individually as well as in a team environment
- Ability to multitask
Experience & Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous customer service and/or phone experience
- Basic computer skills and familiarity
Preferred
- Other clerical and office skills
- Familiarity with the medical field and/or medical terminology
- Previous office and clerical experience
We believe in fair compensation for all of our people, which is why our pay structure takes into account the cost of labor across U.S. geographic markets. For this position, we offer a pay range of $36,795 -- $89,107 annually, with pay varying depending on work location and job-related factors such as knowledge, position level and experience. CHG Healthcare offers starting salaries for sales positions in the form of total target compensation (TTC = base + commission + bonus), which includes base pay, commission, and bonuses. Sales positions receive short-term incentives through commission plans and bonuses. On the other hand, non-sales positions have starting salaries that consist of a base salary and short-term incentives through various bonus plans, which are paid out monthly, quarterly, or annually.
