What will the Real Estate Senior Accountant do?
- Responsible for the monthly G/L close and preparation of monthly financial statements.
- Assist with monthly property variance reports.
- Responsible for lease administration functions, including setting up new and renewal leases, tracking future lease commencement dates and move-outs, and preparing commission payables.
- Supervise day-to-day accounts receivable and payable activities.
- Review and approve recurring monthly expenditures.
- Review and approve bank reconciliations for depository and disbursement accounts.
- Review and approve monthly sales tax filings.
- Balance fixed assets and depreciation schedules.
- Prepare funding for escrows and mortgage loan payments monthly.
- Review and approve monthly rent-up statements.
- Assist with due diligence and closing for acquisitions and dispositions of properties.
- Prepare actual and estimated CAM recovery calculations and billings for tenants.
- Review and approve Company/Corporate transactions, including inter-company transactions, expenses, payroll, commissions, etc.
- Assist with the preparation of annual operating budgets.
- Assist with annual tax preparation and the audit process. Prepare reporting packages for tax returns and audits.
- Review tax returns, K1s, and audits.
- Comply with the reporting requirements of lenders, internal investment funds, and joint venture partners.
What the company needs in the Real Estate Accountant:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in commercial Property Management.
- Intermediate Excel skills and Yardi are preferred.
